Last Day

The last day of class finally came and its not like I'm happy about it or sad its just that it actually came. The last project we had to do was our semester exam and we (class) had to make something in flash having to do with "School being out", "Things to do in the summer" or "Welcoming back". I made one on Welcoming Back the students and I think it turned out great. Our knowledge of flash that we learned through out the year could be put into it, but I made mine more of a funny slide show. I'm really going to miss Globaloria and the people in the class but I might take the class again. I hope that my teachers will miss me too :) lol

Working Hard Now ...

These last few weeks have been very busy due to construction to the school ground and of coarse Globaloria. Last week the teams did their presentations and I'm very happy that everyone did GREAT. Today the whole class has to update everything which means learning logs, team pages, project pages, etc. I was doing pretty good uptil I seen my projects page, because if you look at it I know it will look very empty. Thats why I'm updating everything I should have in the past. Also the teams have to upload their games to the Game Gallery. Yippe

I've learned that if you "Work hard Now it Will pay off Later".

To start off, this week has been very crazy for me. Also I just want to say that keeping teams pages and blogs updated really helped my team out later. This week the teams had to finish up on the PowerPoint for the presentations, and make sure our team pages were uploaded. Once Wednesday came so did the presentations, Derekh and I got to go first. The people from Globaloria were impressed with our game and the progress it took to get our game going. Having the blogs updated helped out my team so the people from Globaloria could what we had trouble with and what we worked on through out the year.

After the presentations Alively94 and I had to go to a Career Fair. Which made our day even longer but I'm just glad that's all behind me now.

This week has been very busy since the whole school (except seniors) took the test. We haven't been in the Globaloria class that much this week, but I was able to get some work done. Derekh and I are going to be working on a quiz at the end of our game, to test your knowledge of what you know about your health. Next week I will be able to work more on the quiz and add it to the game. Well thats its for now, bye =) !!!

To start off my week I had to hear the words "WEST TEST" so Derekh and I are not going to get as much work done on our game considering we have to take the test (unless your a senior). Our game is coming along really well and we hope that anyone who plays it enjoys it. Also since we have the main part of the game on its way to being finished (until we get the .swf file fixed) we are going to add a trivia round at the end of the game to quiz you on your knowledge of what you have learned about your health throughout the game. P.S. I fixed/cleaned up our team page last Friday so we can find everything we posted for our game with a lot less frustration. Well I'll you know how the West Test went,"once I take them". Bye =)

Don't Have A Clue

I really don't know where to start with all these school events popping up. Well first I would like to say that my team mate is awesome, and that our game wouldn't be so close to being done without him. Also I'm really relieved that Ms.Neal and Ms.Leef are helping us too, ex specially with our speeches for the presentation of our games. I just can't wait till we actually get to show the whole class our final game. I'm really happy that these school events are FINALLY slowing down, like the prom, academic banquet, and much more. All this stuff going on makes me tired, and want to SCREAM. But anyway this is just the beginning before we start our lives, which is good so we can experience some of the stress adults/people go through.

Our progress is awesome and I'm now working on the pause frames for the "Office Terror" game. I got a water, orange, and vitamins pause frame. Also Derekh my awesome (only) team mate, has got the music in our game, but the .swf file just won't upload. So if you know what going on please leave a comment with full description, Thanx.

OPEN Your EYES

I never have realized how much hard work you have to put into your game. Also into everything you do. I was asked to work at the prom and I did. Working was hard, carrying glasses back and forth from the tables to the kitchen, but now I realize how hard it is to have a job if your one of the only ones trying. When the guys in the kitchen would get the dishes washed before I was done bringing dishes back, I had to speed up.

Working at the prom made me realize that you have to work as a team to get your job done. Its just like Globaloria working as a team. Also its not just your team who moves you along, its the other teams too. I've noticed that people have been giving ENCOURAGING comments to my team and its really cool to see how every works together. So open your eyes and see who is helping you.

This week has been very busy, so far I have worked on combining my teams two games together and that worked out great. Now Derekh and I will be adding music to our game, to add more to it. Also we will be working on any bugs on the game, so maybe our game will work correctly. I hope that when we do our presentation everything will run through smoothly.

I'll also we working on my Projects Page, adding some things I didn't upload. So I'll be busy for awhile, bye. :/

Okay, here's a quick update. This week Derekh and I are going to be cleaning up our Team's Page and I will be combining Derekh's game to my introduction of our game together. Then later we will be adding anything else to improve our game. Now I just need to find out some coding for a pop-up on our game. Whenever your player hits an object we will freeze (pause) the game and show some text, then to get back to the game you will have to push a button. Only one problem I don't know this coding so if you know it please tell me.

Okay, I've been trying so hard this entire week to keep updating everything, which means learning logs, blogs, etc. I had to do this because the class was supposed to be presenting our progress in the game for the STEM contest. Well, I didn't know my team would have two EXTRA days to get ready...some things have been going on so my teams presentation got held off. Anyway I'm doing pretty well in the flash, but I keep noticing these small mistakes I need to fix. So that means I need to back up a bit and clean things up for the STEM contest.

But even though the dead line for getting the game finished is ticking, I'm not worried about it. I know that my team has went from four to two members. But since that happened , I actually think we're able to communicate better. And Ya I've noticed you have to do that in order to get anything done in Globaloria. So even though things might seem there not going so good, I got 1 team mate who has really helped put the game together (Derekh). Well, I guess thats all I have to say, bye for now :)

Do It & It's Over???

Have you ever felt like you just want to do something just to get it over with. Well I've felt like. Especially when its homework time. But in Globaloria I doubt you can get away with it. Because if you do something your told to and "Just do it to have it over with", your not going to get anywhere and now that the STEM contest dead line is ticking, we have to get busy (like always). Also my teachers are having every team get in front of the class on April 29, to show the other teams what we've been up to so I feel sorry for anyone who's done nothing this whole time (Which Is No One). lol

I would like to give credit to everyone and their awesome games. Wait I take that back, I'm not a teacher so I guess no credit from me "SORRY". But still congrats on everyones progress. Anyway I hope that the class will see every ones hard work and the progress getting their. One more thing, I'm finaly learning how to Flash correctly, but thats probably no big news for whoever is reading this, because pretty everyone in my class has more brain smarts on how to use it. So I guess you'll hear my posts again soon.

Today I walked into class very confident that my teachers and team mates would be impressed with all the work I had done on My Team's Page. I had to upload the Pictures of the scenes that I developed (made) for my team, and I also reworded all the typing so it would be clearer to the reader. I did all this work for me and my team mates so all our progress would be recognized. Today I found out that it was Earth Day and a few of my class mates kept taking some lines for each others blog like SnPendly and Alively94, so if you would like to find out more for that, look on their blogs. I got a kick out of hearing what all they had to say.

Now that I'm well caught up for the Team Page, I will be working on updating my projects page for awhile. Oh and one more thing"Happy Earth Day"!

Here is another new week, and I'm still working on my resent project. Getting buttons to work is not all that easy, because the coding has to right, and the names, and symbol. There is a lot to do now that our class is in the STEM contest, like update our blogs twice a week (which I'm terrible at), upload our progress for our game, update the learning logs and updating the STEM progress we have finished.

I just hope that my teachers and the people at STEM will enjoy my teams game, and I hope they will appreciate all the work we had put into it. Now I'm going to work on my team's page, it's needs a little fixing. I also need to work on UPLOADING my progress so I'm going to be busy, bye.

To start off I've been working on the buttons for the Office Terror game that Derekh and I have been working on. Now I actually have feedback, two of the buttons are working...FINALLY. I just hope that everyone will get their games done in time before the dead line and I think Derekh and I have a good chance to get it finished. Even though 1 team mate dropped out, and the other I just don't know about, but I hope that they're fine. Its seems like Ms.Neal and Ms.Leef are proud of their class and maybe a little worried about the dead line, but again I KNOW my team's game will be done. Just wish me good luck because I NEED IT!

This hasn't been an easy trip to get our games (The ones for the STEM Contest) working correctly or it least the way we want them to. My team mate Derekh and I have been doing good, then going back to having trouble and so on. Well now I have a problem, I'm working on the screens that pop up before you play the game, like Title, Instructions and Purpose. Here is my problem while the play and next buttons work my back buttons won't. SO i'll be busy for awhile. On the other hand I need to do research for Derekh so he can make information pop up (about healthy things and habits) when your playing our game. Bye

Here is a quick update on what I've been up to this week. Earlier this week I was working on the Grape Juice Box game design and trying to figure out how to add coding for character affects, like making them run,jump, etc. Also trying to find coding for buttons. One of my team mates have been out of school a little this week so I had Derekh to work on an office scene and its starting to look great. Today has been a good day for me, my teachers and team mates have been helping me on the game coding that I have been looking for. So finally I'm getting a little better at flash with the coding.

Being All I Can Be

To start off this week has been a little rushed for me. Monday the whole class finally presented the tutorials that we were assigned to make weeks ago. The class had to grade each others tutorials like how User Friendly it was, was the Topic Covered, etc. I think I did OK on my presentation, but I would have done better if I would have more experience getting up in front of people and speaking about a certain subject.

Anyways, today I was on hunt to find a teacher who had some sports uniforms that the class needed for the film we have been working on for the BOE. I went to the library and didn't find the teacher so I went to "C" building and still didn't see the teacher. I finally got back to "A" building and I was told to go take the Writing Assessment. So you probably guess that I was wore out. Hopfully the rest of the week will turn out better.

This week the class has been compromising on our assignments. The whole class has been working on a new film for the Board of Education, to show them what our school has and somewhat of what we need. Another student and I have been working on giant letters for our film that represent our school (GWHS). Another thing we have been busy with is our game designs in flash, and I have a good idea of how my team's game is going to turn out. Now I just to get crackin on it ASAP.

I read a post that said some games pertain to a players experiences. There was a request to comment on it and to explain if it pertains to our own game.

To start off that does make a lot of sense for a game to expose the player to the real world with their own experiences. My team's game does pertain to this, our game has to do with your health and what you can do to help yourself stay healthy. If the player never washed their hands they could get sick and by playing our game it could influence them to do so. Also if they don't like to eat healthy maybe our game could show them how much better off it would be for them to eat right. I just hope that our game does influence others to do whats right for their health.

Keeping My Pace

Today Ellie and I started on word designs for a new video. We had a little trouble starting off, considering that we didn't like the version of Microsoft Word on the computers, but then Ms. Neal said that she had the version we liked on her laptop. Then we got back to business when Ms. Neal said she remembered it wasn't working even when some teachers attempted to fix it. Even if others might not think today was successful, I found out what computers NOT to use.

This past week has been rather easy for me considering we didn't have school for two weeks straight so when friday came around it was back to work. Snow and Progress

Wow, there's a lot of snow. When I went to my cousins there were huge snow drifts that were bigger than our vehicle. My dog loves the snow even though the snow is to deep for him. Now my progress in flash has improved, because now I now a little bit more about coding than I did. I also know a little more about how the layers work. So now I hope that this will help with finishing our game.

Last week the class was assigned to make a tutorial on a given subject in flash. I got to make a tutorial on Folders and Layers in Flash. When I went to get on the internet I wasn't able to connect so it was that easy to research on your subject if you can't get connection from the internet. We were asked to answer the following question, what is your favorite game and why, then follow us with how your game is going to be incorporating those components. My favorite game is clue, and it is a board game. The main idea of the game is to find out what character did the crime and the crime is someone killed a man in his mansion. You have six characters, eight rooms, many of weapons and a note pad to collect your clues.
You have to row the dice and depending on what you got on your dice determines if you can make it to a room. When you roll the dice and you make it in a room, you make a suggestion (You say the room you are in, name a person and a weapon, then the person to the right shows you one of the things you said if they have it, if not the next person and so on). When you see a card you mark it off of your note pad and when you an empty slot in each category(people, weapons, and rooms) then you can make an accusation. Then when some one guess right they win.

Yesterday me and my game team (the Grape Juice Box) worked in flash. Our team's project manager assigned jobs for our team and typed a plan for us to complete. My team also discussed the plans for our game. Today the class had to improve our videos so people will get the purpose of it. Today the whole class had updated our wiki pages and our blogs. We also had emailed or mention the globaloria guy of west Virgina, because he did not show up yesterday which he was supposed to. I think he is just to afraid of us or just doesn't like us to well, because if he did he would have showed up, and that just broke our Hearts (<3). So on the other hand, right now I'm also thinking about what my team needs to edit next on our film of the dress code.

So far I had looked at the webcites and the dryart webcite said you need to be pacient inorder to get your logo, because it will take some time in order to do it. I played on flash last week and learned how to add more layers in your clip. Some of the students in our class showed us how to move our objects and how to make buttons to start or stop your movie clip. I read her page and watch both videos. The movies were on internet safty and not posting personal information on the Web for others to see. She also wanted us to learn what would happen if we had went on Web sites that we didnt need to been on and what would happen if we posted our personal information on there. One of the movies showed us how we get virses in our computers and what it does to them. She thought our comments on the games we had interviewed were really good.

This week I have been fixing up my wiki page. I also played some games like Explore Gravity which showed you how gravity works, with different weights and shapes. Another one I played was 3rd World Farmer. This game showed you how it would be like to own your own farm and how to keep up with it while trying to take care of your family. So you can probably guess that it was an ok week. But I had more fun setting up my blog even though its more fun to chat on the gmail. Which I just figured out how to do. I have also learn how to put my contacts list together it was a little difficult but I got that finished. Hopefully I will learn more on how to put my wiki page togther. But in the mean time I will be patient untill I learn more. So goodbye for now.
